As an engineer, I've learned you're likely not going to be great at all the things at all times. Instead, the real super power is the ability to learn new concepts, languages and frameworks quickly. After all, new paradigms, frameworks and languages are constantly being creating.

So what do I do when I've been working on a server side app for the past six months and next I'm going to be working on a client side single page app?

Well, I brush up on my frontend skills!

Here are three of my favorite resources for doing so:

1. The React Docs

Going through a language or framework's official documentation is hands down the most valuable resource I’ve found. Not all documentation is created equal, but the React Docs are great! The docs are clear, comprehensive and to the point. And, they’re free!

Plus they are better than any paid resource or tutorial I’ve come across.

2. JustJavaScript

This is a fun, high-quality and accessibly priced JavaScript course.

I’m always looking for high-quality and reliable resources with an equally enjoyable User Experience. And JustJavaScript hits all the marks!

3. SuperHi

I learned about SuperHi years ago and just recently completed their React course. It was a great way to supplement working through the React docs. Much like JustJavaScript, SuperHi produces high-quality content with a great User Experience.
